The Black and Tan Coonhound is a recognized dog breed in the United States.
The Ancestors are the Bloodhound, the Kerry Beagle and the Foxhound.
All coonhound breeds are specialized for hunting raccoon and opossum and once they have the scent they drive the animals into a tree, where they bark at them.
The Black and Tan Coonhound, is a “raccoon dog”, which has up to 69 cm tall and 34 kg in weight, with short black and tan fur, with long drooping ears inherited from its Bloodhound relatives.
