The tiffany, also known as tiffany, is a breed of cat originating in the United States. The medium sized cat has medium-length hair and is of the Asian and European Burmese type. The first reference to the race was back in the 1970s in the United States under the name of foreign longhair.
The first association that recognized the race then suppressed its record in light of its rarity. Later, they found some in Canada and the breeding program continued under the name of Tiffany. After exhibitions in Great Britain they were also given the name of Chantilly. This breed is currently little known and recognized. TICA and ACFA gave it a trial basis.
Standards
Tiffany has a medium body with strong muscles. The legs are fine and in proportion to the body with the hind legs higher than the front legs. The tail is moderately thick at the base and tapers to a rounded tip.
The head is medium in size but needs to be fairly high. It forms a small triangular face, supplemented by broad cheekbones and a marked nose. The eyes are large and well spaced. Several colors are accepted, according to the color of the dress. For subjects with traditional dress, all shades of green and yellow are accepted, although gold is preferred if the coat is smooth and green with a silver coat.
The ears are medium sized, set well apart on the skull. The tip is rounded in profile, it must point forward. The coat is semi long with a silky texture and fine because it consists of a short undercoat. The hair is glossy and lies down on the pants, the collar, under the belly and tail. The traditional patterns and sepia are permitted in all colors. Other marriages currently licensed by the LOOF are crossing the Burmese with a European style.
Character
This breed is described as calm, affectionate and easygoing. Sometimes it is described as a balance between the placidity of Persian and Oriental cats of energy. They often focus more particularly on a family member and would sometimes be distant towards strangers. These traits are still very individual and are primarily functions of the history of each cat.
