Dogs are well known as man best friend. So it is our responsibility that we take care of them and give them equal respect and attention which they deserve. As and when dogs grow u p they become a part of the family and mostly start to behave like the younger ones in the house. So just like we visit the doctor for check ups it is our responsibility that we take them to the veterinarians. Every dog needs to be taken to the veterinarian from time to time. Diseases which are found early should be treated as quickly as possible and regular visits will help you in getting your dog healthier. Older dogs need more care and attention as they may be suffering from some age related problems.
The most challenging and difficult part when your dog is sick, is administering the medicines, most of struggle to give them the medicines when they are sick. Some of us are scared that they might tear our fingers apart if we use too much force. One of the most successful ways of administering pills is by opening your dog’s mouth and placing the pill on top of his tongue and keep it as far behind as possible. Once you have done this remember to stroke his throat until you know that he has swallowed the pill. Once you have done this give him a treat just to make sure that he has swallowed the medicine. Stuffing the pill in some sausage or any other food will also do. Liquid medicines should be given to him by opening his mouth and placing it in between his cheeks and molar teeth.
Most dogs hate taking a bath and most of us love giving them one. The time to give your dog is right when his fur becomes soiled this factor is solely dependant upon the breed of the dog. If your dogs stays out of the home you will probably not giving him a bath as many times as you would if he stayed inside the house, because no body really likes a house which has dog smell as a room freshener. Many dog owners use human shampoos on the fur of their dogs and a bath which doesn’t actually clean him is a total waste of time. Pet shampoos are the best shampoos that one could use for his dog, because these are specifically designed for the dog and his problems such as fleas. One should know that the dog’s skin is much more delicate than a man skin as is more likely to dry out. The dog’s skin needs oil, the human shampoos which people use on their dogs take away all the oil. Hence, it is essential tat you choose a shampoo that will clean the dirt on your dog’s skin and at the same time keep his essential skin oil. One can use baby shampoo as it will not irritate the dog’s eyes and dogs which are often bathed will need some supplement so as to keep their skin healthy.
